Harlem Wizards Coming to District 128 in February! In anticipation of the Harlem Wizards coming to town in February, the PFA sponsored a logo design contest for the staff jerseys and the t-shirts and sweatshirts that will be available for purchase. Congratulations to 6th grader, Alexa Castor, for her winning design (the shooting star design attached)! A district-wide vote was held to determine the winner. Alexa's artwork will grace the staff uniforms at the event on February 22. You will also be able to purchase your own t-shirt or sweatshirt featuring the design. Congratulations also to our runners-up, Emma Frasor and Elizabeth Stepuszek. Hope to see you there!

Veterans' Day Food Drive! Indian Hill is supporting troops with a food drive starting Monday. Items will be donated to Caring Patriots, a local non-profit providing Thanksgiving dinner baskets to over 1,000 veterans and their families.
PFA Author Visit Next Wednesday! Author, Eileen Meyer, will be introducing her new book “The Superlative A. Lincoln”. It is a book of poems about Abraham Lincoln. The event is for all grade levels and will be hosted at Chippewa at 7:00 PM.
Fall is here! With the season changing, we are gearing up for the Fall with our annual Band sponsored pumpkin patch this Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9:00a - 1:00p at Independence Junior High School! We hope that you can join us for some fall fun!
IJHS is celebrating Grandparents' Day next Friday, Sept. 6 from 9:00-10:00am. RSVP forms were sent out earlier this week. We look forward to celebrating this wonderful occasion with our community!

IJHS is excited to welcome all of our newest Patriots to our Open School event next Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 12:30 - 2:00p! This event is for all 6th graders and any new students to the district only.
Congratulations to our Girls on the Run ladies in their 5K race this past Sunday in Chicago! Great effort all year long! A big thank you to Ms. Bunnell and Mrs. MacFarlane for making it all possible!
Just a reminder our 2019-2020 school times have changed! For next year, our student school day is 7:55 - 2:43pm. On PLC days, our students will be dismissed at 1:15pm.
Don't forget to register for the 2019-2020 school year! Even if you have a returning student, you must still register your child(ren) for the new school year. It is important to register in a timely manner so we can plan for staffing for the 2019-2020 school year. Parents/Guardians who have more than one student in the district will need to register each child independently. However, our student management system (School Insight) will store in its system all previously submitted data that is shared (i.e. contacts, address, etc.). It is strongly recommended that a computer or tablet with a full keyboard is used when registering.
