Bullying is using intimidation or an aggressive behavior to target a specific individual or group that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated over time.
Protocol
Staff receives report.
Student is interviewed by staff.
If deemed appropriate, other students involved would be interviewed.
Based on bullying definition listed above, the Social Worker and/or Principal will gather and investigate facts and determine next steps.
Principal will notify the parents and determine appropriate plan of action: which could include a variety of interventions including but not limited to such actions as peer mediation, counseling, and disciplinary action.
