Chippewa School is located at 124th and Austin Avenues in unincorporated Palos Heights. Chippewa is a first through third grade elementary building, serving approximately 225 students. Chippewa is one of four schools in Palos Heights School District 128.

The original building was completed in 1964. In 1969 a north wing was added and in 2001 an east wing was added which included the big gym, five additional classrooms along with two smaller rooms for special services. The exterior includes a playground, blacktop area and roomy playing fields.

We are committed to providing a safe, caring and nurturing learning environment for our community of learners. Our staff focuses on three strategies for success, “Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible”, we take a proactive systems approach toward developing responsible citizens and lifelong learners. Bee chips are given to students to recognize and encourage the positive behaviors we want to see from students. We have a weekly drawing and students are recognized for their efforts in being safe, respectful and responsible individuals.
